Vincent Breton-Provencher, PhD

Assistant professor at the department of Psychiatry and Neuroscience of Université Laval and researcher at CERVO Brain Research Centre. He did his postdoc in the lab of Dr. Mriganka Sur at MIT where he studied the role of noradrenaline in brain states and learned behaviors. He received his PhD in Neurobiology and his BSc in Physics Engineering from Université Laval. He loves collecting records. CV

Joël Boutin, PhD

Research Scientist, Joël received his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Université Laval. He previously worked in the labs of Drs Ryczko and Bentzinger at Université de Sherbrooke.

Emmeraude Tanguay, MSc

PhD Student, Neuroscience. Emmeraude graduated from the BSc program in Neuroscience from Université de Montréal. She joined the lab in May 2022 to study the effect of neuromodulator system on cortical networks.

Camille Balazuc, MSc

PhD Student in Neuroscience. Camille graduated from the Master of Neuroscience program at Université Lyon 1. She joined the lab in January 2024 during an internship and began her PhD in September 2024. She is studying the impact of norepinephrine on motor learning.

Mariama Aboudou, MSc

PhD Student in Neuroscience. Mariama graduated from the Master of Neuroscience program at Université Sorbonne. She joined the lab in January 2024 to study the impact of norepinephrine and dopamine release in the prefrontal cortex on associative learning and decision-making.

Jordan Charest, MSc

PhD Student in Biophotonics. Jordan graduated from the MSc program in Physics at Université Laval. They began their PhD in the lab in January 2026 to study how neuromodulation and arousal shape brain networks.

Johanna Abdallah, MSc.

PhD Student in Neuroscience. Johanna graduated from the Master of Translational Medicinal Chemistry, of Montpellier University. She joined the lab in April 2026 to study the how at the molecular a neurotransmitter like Noradrenaline help to integrate visual information in the dorsal Lateral Geniculate Nucleus of the thalamus.

Francis Bernard, BSc.

MSc Student in Medical Physics. Francis graduated from the BSc program in Physics at Université Laval. He joined the lab in May 2025 to study how noradrenaline may affect neurovascular coupling in the cortex.

Mélodie Tremblay

BSc student in Biomedical Sciences at Laval University. As part of a summer research internship, Mélodie joined the lab in May 2025 to investigate the impact of prefrontal dopamine release on learning processes and adaptive behavior.
